Bitterly cold weather continues

MOTORISTS are being reminded to take extra care, with more snow expected in many parts of the country this morning.

Road temperatures continue to hamper driving with frozen, icy ground still a danger, on secondary routes.

Temperatures are to remain low throughout the day, reaching no more than 1C.

Some bus services may also be curtailed this morning.

Salt is being distributed to local authorities around the country to deal with the increased demand for road gritting.
