Suspected arson at city centre petrol station

STAFF at a Clare Street petrol station were left visibly shaken following a suspected arson attack on two vehicles in their forecourt.

Fortunately members of Limerick Fire Service were quickly on the scene to control the fire which it is said to have taken place directly over the stations petrol reserves. Two cars were left gutted by fire following the suspected arson attack including a rare Range Rover Sport V8.

Clare Street residents were visibly shocked by the incident, one man said, “I left my house after hearing a huge bang, I’m disgusted by this”.

The vehicles which were targeted are believed to belong to the owner of the petrol station and the manager.

Nobody was hurt during the incident but the Range Rover which was gutted is reputed to be the only model of it’s kind in Ireland.
