Man injured in Limerick shooting

GARDAI are investigating a shooting in which a man received injuries to the head last night.

The attack occurred around 10pm not far from Thomond Park where the Munster Heineken Cup match took place with Northampton.

A 25-year-old man was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Dooradoyle for treatment.

It is understood his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
