Each week around 35,000 women of all ages and stages find their spirits lifted by the showโs light-hearted look at the menopause.
This show broke box-office records across Ireland on its 2007/8 tour and itโs now returning to Limerick, this time to LIT Millennium Theatre, and not UCH as reported in Arts page last week – sorry, folks.
With a fabulous cast starring three of Irelandโs most versatile stars; Adรจle King (Mulhuddart housewife), Linda Martin (soap star) and Flo McSweeney (earth mother), and UK actress Ellen OโGrady (black power), Menopause The Musical heats up Millennium Theatre from Tuesday February 16 to Saturday 20, 8pm.
Writer/ producer Jeanie Linders says the characters are a compilation of any woman and are sure to appeal to all.
โEach of us has a part of our personality that is glam, or striving for success, or dedicated to making our physical world a better place, or to being a loving mate. I think that is one of the reasons that the women in the audience readily identify with the characters. Seeing them โsufferโ the woes of the menopause brings the topics of ageing and menopause to the forefrontโ.
She views it as a great way for women to connect all over the world. First and foremost, it is a celebration of memory loss and music, hot flushes and low tolerance levels, humour and hormones, incorporated in a quality production vehicle that muses, bemuses, entertains and exposes.
Adele King returns to LIT Millennium Theatre to lead the 2010 production, 8pm, February 16 to 20.
