Action Haiti Concern Fundraiser

ACTION Haiti in association with Concern Worldwide takes place in Dolan’s on Saturday March 13. Live performances on the night will come from stellar local Limerick acts Mahlon Sweet Field, Peter Delaney, Mark O’Connor and Windings followed by a DJ set with Viva Music Studios Dan Sykes. The Action Haiti collective is spearheaded by Liam Marley and Eric Kelleher who both have a long running involvement in the Limerick music scene.

Both were members of the Aspersion Music Collective (AMC), a non-profit collective that ran shows in the city for several years playing host to acts like Fugazi, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Lapse and The Robocop Kraus to name a few. “We approached Dolans with an idea of staging the event in the Warehouse, recently voted ‘Munster Venue of the Year’ and were met with the same enthusiasm and likeminded drive that lead us to setting this up in the first place”, Eric told the Limerick Post. “After seeing the devastation caused by the Haiti earthquake, like most people, we felt compelled to do something to help in any way we could. After discussing the situation with friends, we decided to stage an event to raise funds to help the aid and rescue effort.

We approached several Limerick based musicians to take part and were delighted to find they were just as enthusiastic about contributing as we were and Action Haiti was developed”, says Eric. All of the acts on the bill are long established musicians and will need no introduction to Limerick music fans. “Action Haiti in association with Concern Worldwide will proudly feature a host of great Limerick talent who are all graciously contributing their time and effort for free and we think there will be something for everyones musical taste.” Check out more on the acts from the following:
