Five injured in road accident

GARDAI in Henry Street are investigating a crash in which five people were injured on the Dublin Road this evening.

The incident happened shortly before 4.30pm when two cars collided near the Groody Roundabout.

A number of the injured had to be cut from their vehicles before they were taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital. It is understood none of the injuries is thought to be life threatening.
