Bourke mourns first cousin Gerry Ryan

FORMER Limerick city councillor Jack Bourke said this Friday he was shocked to learn of the sudden death of his first cousin, RTE broadcaster,  Gerry Ryan.
“Gerry’s mother Maureen Bourke, was my aunt. I last met with him about five months ago”.

Mr Bourke said he had noticed that the broadcaster had put on an amount of weight in recent months.
“I find it unbelievable….his death has come as such a shock”.
Gerry Ryan was also related to the late BBC broadcaster Eamonn Andrews, who was married to a sister of Jack Bourke.
