A man in his 20’s was also hospitalised suffering from smoke inhalation, after residents of the Lakes Nursing Home in Killaloe were evacuated by emergency services at around 1am.
The deceased was a 95 year old female resident who is said to have died from natural causes during the evacuation of 20 occupants.

Technical examinations have revealed that the fire began in a bin in one of the bedrooms.
