Half a million investment for Limerick software firm

A LIMERICK based technology firm that has developed breakthrough internet telephony software for small businesses and which has won key business from Intel has raised €500,000 from the Business Angel Partnership.

Siliconrepublic reported that Emutex, which is based in Raheen, Limerick, will use the investment to sustain development of its phone technology for small firms as well as support high-skilled employment in Limerick in the longer term.
Emutex’s phone solutions enable small businesses to seamlessly connect their office phones to the outside world using their broadband connection.
This enables businesses to significantly reduce recurring line rental and call charges while availing of corporate phone system features such as automated attendants, conferencing, recording and voicemail by email.

Capital Assets appoints Finance Director as business set for expansion

Capital Assets, a Limerick based specialist property asset management company, has announced the appointment of Limerickman Keith McGuigan as Finance Director to the business. The appointment comes as the company positions itself for further business growth over the coming 12 months, as property investors and lenders increasingly turn to expert service providers to more effectively manage property portfolios.

Cauwill sign deal with UK tourist body

Deal between Cauwill Technologies and Tourism Wales is first big signing under a new programme that fosters digital links between Ireland and Wales
Cauwill Technologies and Tourism Wales UK have signed a deal that will see Cauwill provide tourists to Wales with leading location based service technologies through the website wales.info. The service will allow visitors to Wales to navigate to their hotels/B&B/hostels using their mobile phone. It will also allow visitors to explore and learn about the local surrounding attractions.

The deal will result in several new developer and marketing jobs in Cauwill’s Limerick office over the next 6-12 months. It came about through Inventorium, an initiative targeted at stimulating digital sector innovation between Ireland and northwest Wales. Inventorium is an NDRC (National Digital Research Centre) & CAST (Centre for Advanced Software Technology, Bangor) initiative.
Ian Rice CEO of Cauwill said: “This is a great coup for a new Irish company….Mobile navigation is ever increasing with more and more smartphones being shipped with navigation software pre installed. This partnership will allow visitors to Wales to easily navigate to their accommodation and local attractions with just one click on their phone.”
