Limerick’s Galvin gets All Star Nomination

-

LIMERICK footballer John Galvin is the county’s only representative on the 2010 Vodafone All Star nominations list. The nomination serves as recognition for the Croom number nine, who this season was without doubt Limerick’s best performer. Galvin is nominated at midfield alongside, Aidan Walsh (Cork), Paddy Keenan (Louth), Michael D Macauley (Dublin), Kalum King (Down), Nicholas Murphy (Cork).

This is the third time that Galvin has been nominated, however the Limerick man has yet to pick up the coveted award. Speaking exclusively to the Limerick Post, Galvin admits to being delighted with his nomination. “I am delighted and honored to be named amongst that list of players. It is a great achievement for myself and Limerick football to have a nomination at this level. It is a team game of course and I would not be on that list without my team mates, so this is as much a recognition for them as it is for me personally. It was another good year for us. Losing to eventual All Ireland champions Cork in extra time, just proves that Limerick football is on the rise. I am looking forward to improving next year and hopefully with the new management team in place, we will”

The awards night is scheduled for October 15th in Dublin, with coverage on RTE television.
