Changes a plenty for Munster

-

Ian Nagle and Dave Foley will start in the second row for Munster this weekend against Treviso. The young duo have recently signed new full time contracts with the province and they will not be given their chance to shine in Munster’s first ever Magners League game in Italy against Treviso.

The side which includes Paul Warwick at 10 and Duncan Williams at 9 is captained by Doug Howlett who this week announced an extension to his contract with Munster. The flying All Black will be around for one more year.

With international commitments and ten players unavailable through injury Munster name a much changed side for the game against Benetton Treviso in the Stadio Comunale di Monigo on Sunday.

Further disruption to their plans came last night when Peter Sringer was called up to the international squad which means that Duncan Williams will partner Paul Warwick at half back and Academy player Cathal Sheridan named on the bench.

Sheridan, who plays his rugby with UL Bohemians, last weekend scored a crucial try in his side’s away win against Lansdowne.

Elsewhere there’s a decided new look to the Munster formation with Simon Zebo on the left wing and Tom Gleeson in the centre while upfront the twin totems of Ian Nagle and Dave Foley form the second row just behind Darragh Hurley and Stephen Archer.

Munster: S Deasy; D Howlett, T Gleeson, L Mafi, S Zebo; P Warwick, D Williams; D Hurley, D Varley, S Archer; I Nagle, D Foley; B Holland, T O’Donnell, J Coughlan. Replacements: M Sherry, W du Preez, P Borlase, M O’Driscoll, D Ryan, C Sheridan, S Tuitupou, D Hurley.
