Hurlers will contest league final

THE Limerick senior hurlers will play in the Division two national hurling league final after securing a place in the showpiece, with one fixture still to play.
A 1-24 to 1-09 win over Kerry last weekend in Kilmallock now means that Limerick will face either Clare or Antrim in the final on Bank Holiday May 1st.

Limerickโ€™s opponents in the final are not yet known as Clare and Antrim are locked on eight points apiece.
Limerick face Antrim in the last game of the league on April 17th in Casement Park, while Clare will take on Carlow on the same day.
With no opponents known, the venue for the final is obviously not yet decided. Limerick of course will be looking for the game to be played in the Gaelic Grounds. The final could even be played on Bank Holiday Monday as part of a double header with the Division 1 hurling final.
The lack of games at the Ennis Road venue has been highlighted several times and to this point, GAA Headquarters have done little to send some glamour ties to the banks of the Shannon.
With Limerick being the European Capital of Sport this year, as well as hosting the Great Limerick Run, the Bank Holiday weekend fixture would cap a great weekend for Limerick and a great few months for Limerick hurling.
Letโ€™s make it happen.
