Willie โBig Bangโ Casey has vowed to become European Super Bantamweight champion in 2012 but he will not be looking beyond his September 3rd fight against tough French man Daniel Kodjo.ย The former European and Prizefighter championโs career has received a major boost since joining forces with Corkman Gary Hyde and Casey has re-located to Belfast to train with Paul McCullagh.
โI am loving the intensive training programme and the technical skills Paul has been teaching me. I feel unstoppable alreadyโย โI am looking forward to showing off my new skills in my home town on September 3rdโ. Gary Hyde will promote the show and promises to promote two more professional shows in Limerick before the end of 2011.ย โWillie will be kept busy fighting three more times in 2011 and this will provide perfect preparation for his early European title challengeโ.ย The current European Champion Kiko Martinez will defend his title against Carl Frampton in Belfast on September 1
0th and the winner of this fight must defend the title against Willie in 2012โ.ย Willie who is ranked higher than Frampton will not be stepped over so we will make sure that who ever wins the Martinez-Frampton fight MUST fight Willie in their first defence.ย I would be very keen on putting this fight on in Munster andย I promise 2012 will be a defining year in Willieโs career.
Also featuring on the Limerick September 3rd show are two of Hydeโs other hot prospects light welterweight Levan Ghvamichava 4(3)-0 and Welterweight Mark Heffron 5(4)-0.ย Local standout undefeated light middleweight Alan Donnellan and Jon Fogg will also feature on the show which is being held at the Limerick Institute of Technology.ย Corkman Alan O Neill who is based in Maasachussets, USA will complete the 6 fight card which promises to be thrilling night of professional boxing.ย Tickets for the show, which are keenly priced at โฌ45, are on sale now can be purchased from Ticketgroup.ie and from 0851858463
