ARTS page has more to tell you of the Autumn 2011 concertย series announced for Castleconnellโ€™s All Saints Church and beginningย  Tuesday 13 next, 8pm. According to Countyย Arts Officer Joan MacKernan, The Irish Baroque Orchestra Chamber Soloists (IBOCS) will perform a superb chamber music programme of French Baroque repertoire on period instrumentsย for this first concert of the season.

The Chamber Soloists are a smallย period ensembleย drawn from the main Irish Baroque Orchestra andย will be led by artistic director Monica Huggett. Sheโ€™s a Grammy-nominated violinist. For this project,ย  Huggett (baroque violin) will be joined by Lisa Beznosiuk, one of the worldโ€™s leading performers on early flutes, with Sarah Groser (viols) and David Adams (harpsichord).
An English woman, Monica Huggett is artistic director of both the Irish Baroque Orchestra and the Portland (Oregon) Baroque Orchestra. She has also been appointed as the first artistic director of the Juilliard Schoolโ€™s Historical Performance Program.
Tuesday 13โ€™s programme will include works by theย premier French baroque composers of 17th and 18th centuries: Francois Couperin, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Jean-Marie Leclair and Marin Marais.
