New funding for Limerick sports

A NUMBER of Limerick sports facilities and clubs are to benefit from a โ‚ฌ2.9milion local authority scheme, which is being allocated to projects nationwide.
The Limerick clubs to benefit are: Rathbane Golf club (Various Works โ‚ฌ48,521: Baggot Estate, Ballinacurra: Adult Exercise Apparatus at five locations along pathway, โ‚ฌ23,223: Newcastle West, & Castletroy, Bocce Courts, โ‚ฌ18,813: Castletroy & Newcastle West, Outdoor Gym Equipment, โ‚ฌ11,963: Patrickswell Mini pitches, refurbishment/fencing, โ‚ฌ23,154: Rathkeale Mini Pitches refurbishment/fencing, โ‚ฌ25,000.

Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Michael Ring said that a total of 51 separate projects have been allocated funding on a provisional basis.
โ€œI hope to be in a position to announce further allocations in the very near future, pending the receipt of supporting documentation from some local authorities,โ€ said the Minister who pointed out that the funding is not a new round of the Sports Capital Programme but a โ€œtargeted measure for local authority facilities.โ€
