Insulating power of curtains, blinds

ESTABLISHED four years ago by Elaine Griffin, Mid West Curtains has conducted a thriving business in styling blinds, curtains and house decor. Mid West Curtains fashions all work at its workshop in Bruff and the company offers a doorstep business, bringing samples and swatches by the van load to your premises.
New season fabrics and new lines in poles and accessories have arrived for A/ W 2011.

Elaine Griffin is sounding the alert with respect to insulating materials and choices for the Winter effected through soft furnishings.
โ€œNow is the time to look head with respect to controlling light, draught and sound interference with quality blinds and curtains,โ€ she explains. โ€œTab-top curtains and poles have been popular for a long time and they look great but have little insulation power. There is a return in trend to pelmet curtains which are good to seal out draughts and light. A pelmet also makes it possible to place the curtain rail close to the window, maximising insulationโ€.
She recommends heavy fabrics for wintery windows and there is the option of interlining for added weight and warmth, giving that luxuriously thick textured drape.
โ€œOr you can have curtains with blackout lining to muffle noise and light and cold. Blackout blinds come in all sorts of colours and designs. These fit snugly into a Velux or dormer window, boosting insulation and they work well as roller blinds alsoโ€.
Elaine Griffin runs an efficient, informed sales team that will help you bring together a room with respect to colours and furbishment in the style or era to which you are drawn.
