32-year-old Gerard Manning with an address at 17 Upper Gerald Griffin Street, was charged this Tuesday morning with the murder of 52-year-old Martin Purcell at a rented apartment in Wickham Street on dates between September 28 and 30.

Manning, who appeared at Limerick District Court after gardai were directed by the DPP to proceed with the charges, was granted free legal aid and remanded to appear in court again on October 11 next.
