Limerick graduates celebrate Further Education achievement

LIMERICK College of Further Education (LCFE) held its annual graduation ceremony at the South Court Hotel on Thursday October 27, with over 274 learners receiving awards in various disciplines. Certificates were presented by the Minister of State, Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade, Jan O’Sullivan TD and the chairperson of City of Limerick VEC, cllr. Denis McCarthy, who were assisted by LCFE’s management team.

The event was one of the largest graduation ceremonies held by the college, with almost 1000 guests and graduates attending. Enrolments at the college continue to expand with 1,184 full-time learners attending LCFE this year, consisting of over 43 different nationalities, ranging in age from 17 to 60. The demand for places at the college continues to far exceed the number of places available.
Minister Jan O’Sullivan congratulated the graduates on the tremendous work put into achieving their goals and also commended their families for the support they provided over the course of their studies. She paid tribute to the teaching staff of LCFE, making reference to the great atmosphere in the college on her many visits.
LCFE director, Mr Pat Maunsell noted in his speech that the graduation ceremony was “the highlight of the college’s academic year, as it bestows official recognition on our learners’ achievements”.
