CONSTRUCTION workers in the Limerick and Cork areas who had been waiting with โbated breathโ for the governmentโs promise of creating hundreds of jobs, have received a โslap in the faceโ, according to FIanna Fail spokesperson for Transport, Timmy Dooley. He was commenting on the governmentโs confirmation that a number of major projectsย are to be axed, as transport bears the brunt of capital spending cuts.
The planned motorway that would have cut the travel time between Limerick and Cork by half an hour has been axed.
