New season for Limerick Fc

LIMERICK FC kick off their Airtricity League Division One campaign this coming Friday night as Finn Harps come to Jackman Park. Kick off is at 19.45.

Limerick, who have invested heavily in the off season, are expected to win the eight team division by some margin. That in itself of course will bring more pressure. Speaking ahead of the season opener this weekend, Limerick manager Pat Scully is only looking at this Fridayโ€™s game.
โ€œWe were pleased with the preseason over all. We have a fully fit squad to choose from and itโ€™s also nice to start the season at home for the first time in three years, but itโ€™s all about what we do on Friday that counts. We have had Harps watched and they are a decent team with some good players. We have a very strong team and a good squad and all the lads are 100% determined to get off to a good start. We know it will be a hard game, but the players will be ready for that.โ€
Following the loss of trial signings Janczyk and Kalouda from CSKA Moscow, Limerick FC announced two new high profile signings this week to make up for same. Striker Dominic Foley and midfielder Derek Oโ€™Brien both joined up with the club ahead of the Finn Harps game this weekend.
Charleville native Dominic Foley, 35, is a former Irish International winning six caps during Mick McCarthyโ€™s reign and signs from Cercle Brugge in Belgium. Derek Oโ€™Brien, 32, is a Tralee native and joins from Munster rivals Cork City where he was influential in last seasonโ€™s successful promotion campaign squad.โ€
With names such as these, anything but promotion would be a disaster for the SuperBlues. The final journey starts this weekend.
