Hollywood comes to Ennis Road

New cinema complex opens March 16
IT will be ‘showtime’ in Caherdavin from March 16, with the official launch of the northside’s first cinema complex, at the Ennis Road Retail Park.
“No, we will not be engaging any celebrity to cut the ribbon…it will be straight down to business from around 2pm with all seven screens up and running,”

said Showtime director, Paddy O’Sullivan, who introduced Storm Cinemas to Castletroy seven years ago.  He is excited about his company’s latest project and predicts that, despite the competition, they will generate their own audience.
“Now that the city’s northsiders have their own cinema complex at their doorstep, they are likely to become more regular film goers. We envisage our catchment area wlll extend out to Ennis and Shannon, and across towards Clonlara.
“Those who have not been to a cinema in years are certain to appreciate the many new advances in technology. It will be an entirely new experience for them.
“The seven screens come with the latest in digital technology, and allied with superb sound systems, extra wide seats, etc., the wow factor will be very much in evidence.
“We have invested heavily to ensure that we will win approval from our opening day”.
The largest cinema is designed to accommodate 350 patrons, with the smallest a 100 seater.
A VIP screen is available for special occasions.
Early morning showings are planned for weekends, as are late shows.
The Ennis Road Retail Park is alongside Dunnes Stores.
