Injuries hit Limerick footballers

THE LIMERICK footballers look to have dropped out of the promotion race in the National Football league. A 2-13 to 0-14 loss to Wicklow last weekend looks to have sealed Maurice Horanโ€™s sides fate. The Limerick men play Waterford this Saturday night at 5pm in a curtain raiser for the hurling clash between Limerick and Offaly.

Limerick lie in third spot in the league behind Clare and Fermanagh. Limerick have yet to travel to Fermanagh, while Clare have Kilkenny and London to come.
The league season, which promised so much, has been marred by injury blow after injury blow for Limerick.
The names on the treatment table would grace may other teams in the country, so their loss to Limerick cannot be under estimated.
Johnny Mc Carthy, Seanie Buckley, Jim Donovan, Andrew Lane, John Cooke and Eoghan Oโ€™Connor are all doubtful to play a part in this Saturday nights game.
With John Galvin having played 70 minutes last week, Limerick will be sweating on the midfielderโ€™s ability to play back to back weeks having only returned from a knee injury last weekend.
With promotion now seemingly out of sight. Limerick will see this weekendโ€™s game as a dress rehearsal for their championship meeting with the Deise on May 20.
