Charged with cultivation of cannabis

JULY 12 next has been set as the date to hear the case of a man charged with the cultivation of cannabis plants at a house in county Limerick. Shane Connolly, 34, with an address at Upper Portnard, Cappamore, is charged with the illegal cultivation of cannabis plants worth over €2,000, the possession of a small quantity of the drug and the alleged possession of an imitation firearm, namely an air pistol.

The charges date back to March of last year where gardai alleged to have uncovered the items during a search of the county Limerick house. A statements order has been made in the matter, and the case was adjourned by Judge Eamon O’Brien until next July.

Altercation outside nightclub leads to court appearance

AN ALLEGED assault outside a city centre nightclub, has resulted in a 24-year-old man being charged at Limerick District Court contrary to section 3 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person act.
Simon Delaney, with an address at Sycamore Drive, Bruff, is alleged to have been involved in an altercation outside a nightclub in the Cornmarket area of the city on May 29, of last year.  Chris Lynch, defence solicitor, sought a date for hearing, and Judge Eamon O’Brien adjourned until July 12 next.

Found upstairs in health clinic

A man found on the premises of a health clinic on Bishop Street in Limerick city, resulted in a 25-year-old man being charged with the offence of burglary at Limerick District Court.
Barry Duggan, with an address at St Patrick’s Hostel, on the Dublin Road, was alleged to have been found upstairs in the premises after they responded to a burglar alarm call on December 28 last.
Ted McCarthy, solicitor, sought a date for hearing, and Judge Eamon O’Brien adjourned the matter until July 12.
A 21-year-old woman also found on the premises on the same date, has been charged with trespass. Noelle Mason, with an address at Sean Heuston Place, was alleged by gardai to have also been found on the premises with the co-accused.  Sarah Ryan, solicitor, sought an adjournment date in the case to March 28 next.
