CJ Stander signs for Munster

AS reported by the Limerick Post in April, South African born backrow forward, CJ Stander has signed a two year contract with Munster Rugby. The Blue Bulls player is being targeted as a project player for the IRFU. This means that the current Springbok squad member could one day play for Ireland. The versatile player captained the South Africa U/20 team that competed in the 2010 Junior World Cup.

In this his first season playing Super 15 rugby the 22 year old has played 13 times and scored four tries for the Bulls who lie 5th in the overall table after finishing second in the South African Conference.

A former captain of South Africa Schools and U20s, he will join Munster on a two year contract – subject to being granted a work permit and passing the requisite fitness test – once his commitment to the Bulls in the Super 15 and Currie Cup has ended,
