UL Gala Dinner to celebrate Limerick fashion design

ON the strength of Limerick’s glowing reputation for up and coming fashion design, details have been announced of a Gala Dinner at The Pavilion, UL to celebrate ‘Limerick Design: Past & Present’ – a showcase of Limerick talent and style on November 30, 2012. Limerick ladies are well known for their style, and the city’s talented fashion graduates have been at the top of award ceremonies for many years. This event has been specially created to showcase and acknowledge the talent of Limerick’s designers. The highlight of the event will be a unique showcase of local, national and international fashion design.

Designs on the night will feature Linda Wilson, Caroline Mitchell, Marion Murphy Cooney, Linda Wall, Claire Slattery, Emma Mulcair, Aisling Maher, Antoinette O’Connell, Margaret Ryan, Clodagh Irwin Owens, Sinead Clarke and the talented colleges of LSAD and LCFE. As part of the spectacular, two very special awards for ‘Designer of the Year’ and ‘Best up and coming Designer’ will be announced.
The showcase is being created and managed by Celia Holman Le. It is not only a unique opportunity for retailers, style influencers and businesses to network with Ireland’s best designers and fashion businesses, but will also be a breathtaking show that guests can just sit back and enjoy. TV3’s Xposé will be on hand to film and to broadcast highlights.
The event will include a champagne reception steeped with the warm fuzzy feeling of Christmas, as guests will be greeted on arrival with Christmas carols from a well known orchestra. This will be followed by a four-course meal with fine wines from Cassidy Wines, Christmas gifts for all guests and dancing during and after with a live band until late.
Celia Holman Lee said, “It’s a great honour to be involved in an event like this to celebrate Limerick design. We are all so very proud to champion Limerick design and culture.”
Linda Stevens from Conferences & Events, UL commented; “Limerick prides itself on being a hub for Limerick fashion, and I am thrilled to be part of this exciting new event. I believe this event will entertain, inspire and stimulate guests, and endorse Limerick’s position as the most dynamic city for creative talent in fashion.”
