On direction of the DPP, Mr Treacy is to be sent forward for trial to the next sitting of Limerick Circuit Criminal Court.
Judge Eugene O’Kelly gave the accused man the ‘alibi warning’ where should any part of his defence be made up by alibis, he must notify the gardai within 14 days. Defending solicitor Bobby Eagar, applied for legal aid on behalf of Mr Treacy and the court granted that two counsel be assigned given the volume and time span of the charges.
Mr Treacy was released on his own bond of โฌ500 having surrendered his passport to the State and undertake not to apply for any new documents.
An application to impose reporting restrictions on naming the accused man was refused by Judge OโKelly because of the antiquity of the charges and the fact that the alleged injured parties are no longer minors.
