Slight drop in Limerick rents

WHILE the average national rent rose by 2.2 per cent in 2012, rents in Limerick fell by a  1.1 per cent, according to the Daft.ie 2012 Rental Report.
Rents in Limerick County also fell slightly with an average drop of 0.9 per cent recorded; nearby counties Clare and Tipperary also saw decreases of 1.9 and 2.3 per cent respectively.
According to the property website, the average rent in Limerick City now stands at €638 per month – a total fall of 26 per cent from peak prices.

The average cost of renting a single room in Limerick city centre is currently €228 while a double room averages at €279 per month.
The number of properties available to rent nationwide is also at its lowest since mid-2008.
