ANDY Lee marked his return to the boxing ring in Manhattan last night with a first round knockout victory over Daryl Cunningham.

The Castleconnell man wasted little time in getting the job done, jabbing at Cunningham right from the first bell before launching a southpaw that left his opponent on the ropes.

Lee then got punches in with both hands to leave the referee with no choice but to stop the fight before the end of the first round.

The win will come as a massive boost to his confidence as he continues to recover from last year’s world title loss to Julio Cesar Chavez.
