A CAMPAIGN has been launched to change the name of a Limerick city street. More than 25 signatures will be submitted to Limerick City Council to change the name of Park Avenue. Organiser of the campaign Change Your Street Name, John Allen said: “We see the People’s Park from our buildings. We feel ‘Park Avenue’ is more appropriate to the location and in line with future plans for the city. The original and traditional name of this street was ‘Reeves Path ‘ but this was changed to Upper Mallow Street by the council some years ago,”he said.
