KILDIMO resident Martin Critten, founder of the Slรญ Nรญos Fearr anti-austerity movement, has this week launched a new political group called the National Independent Party.
The party held a press briefing in Dublin this week to brief the media and public about its core values and policies regarding job creation and other economic matters.
The National Independent Party also opened its first Limerick constituency office in Locke Quay this week.
Mr Critten explained: โWe arrive completely from the backfield armed with policies to ensure our government structures perform, become more accountable, and people ย finally receive incomes befitting the country they reside in.
โWe recognise that the present landscape is quite different and likewise the people involved in this organisation are very different too โ we have no connection with current politics, or big business.โ
Mr Critten added that the partyโs policies โare designed to move the country forward, not maintain an elected representativeโs careerโ.
The partyโs policies include targeting seven key areas of reform, including job creation, the protection of national resources, repealing the property tax and introducing government reforms.
The National Independent Party stemmed from the Slรญ Nรญos Fearr political movement that was founded by Mr Critten in recent years.
Members of the group staged a 130-mile walk from Limerick to Dublin in May to spead their anti-austerity message.
