After Dark – Free Beer and Traffic in Smyths Bar

THE results may not have been what we were so desperately hoping for here in Limerick, but no-one can say the fans didn’t get behind the Limerick teams last weekend and nowhere was this more evident that at Smyths Bar and Icon nightclub last Sunday 18.
Limerick fans gathered in force to watch the action in the minor and senior clashes on the big screens at Smyth’s Bar and despite the results, they stayed on to cheer themselves up with some impressive after match entertainment.
The live music began early with popular band Traffic taking to stage first.
This was followed by Free Beer, the band behind Limerick anthem ‘Luimneach Abú’ which fans had been downloading in the build up to the game on iTunes.
All proceeds of that song incidentally are going to The Children’s Ark at University College Hospital, CARI and Limerick’s Live 95fm’s ‘95 Stop Tour for Limerick Kids’.
This weekend then Smyth’s bar which is well known for it’s fantastic live music gigs has another great line-up for  music fans to enjoy.
Friday evening high energy four piece party band UV5 will be taking to the stage while Saturday night sees rock band Naked Bear performing in the bar.
Sunday night Tokyo Goats who are very popular at the venue return while Monday night Limerick band Traffic are back to entertain/
