Councillor Fitzgerald said he was honoured to have been invited to attend next monthโ€™s event. โ€œEvents such as these are important for a number of reasons.ย  They not only remind us of the solid connections that existย between Countyย Limerickย and its Diaspora, but they also serve to strengthen the sense of community spirit that exists among Limerick people in Britainโ€, he said.

โ€œI will use the event as an opportunity to inform members of the Irish community who have established successful businesses in Britain that Limerick is an attractive investment locationโ€, he said.

Commenting on The Irish Post newspaperโ€™s sponsorship of the event, Cllr. Fitzgerald said:

โ€œThe Irish Post has been the newspaper of choice for the Irish Diaspora in Britain over many years. It showcases the wealth of activity on-going within the Irish community there. I am delighted to learn that the newspaper has recently invested in the Irish Voice and Irish America magazine in a move that will secure its future and the level of media coverage provided for Irish people living abroad.โ€
