THE body of a 22-year-old male has been recovered from the River Shannon this Tuesday morning.
Rescue units from the Limerick Marine Search and rescue accompanied by three tenders from Limerick City Fire and Rescue at O’Callaghan Strand.
The remains were spotted by workers at Honan’s Quay who saw the body in the river.

It is not understood how the man entered the water but the remains have been taken to the University Hospital Limerick for a post mortem and for formal identification.
Some documents were found but it is not yet clear if they are linked to the deceased.
Gardai are conducting an investigation into the discovery.
