A THREE car collision and delays in tailbacks are understood to have been caused by a loose horse on the M7 motorway.
The major pile up occurred shortly after 6pm on Friday evening when the animal strayed on to the motorway acting three cars collide.
A large section of the road was closed for a time during Friday’s rush hour and there were no serious injuries but it is understood the animal died as a result of injuries it sustained.
The scene was attended by four tenders of Limerick City Fire and Rescue Service, gardai and ambulance crews and the road was reopened some time later.
