Four UL Eagles involved in Irish Premier side

UL Eagles v UCD Marian - 2013 Basketball Ireland Men's Superleague National Cup Semi-FinalFOUR UL Eagles, two players and two coaches, will represent Ireland on the Men’s Premier Select Team this weekend in Birmingham, England. After trials and careful consideration the management team for the Irish Men’s Premier Select Team have chosen the twelve players that will represent the league in Birmingham on Sunday, January 12 at Britian’s National Indoor Arena against the best of the Bristish Basketball League.

Delwan Graham and Scott Kinnevane of the local, UL Eagles, will be joined by Mark Keenan, head coach and Mike Hickey, assistant coach for the game on Sunday.

Speaking about the selection and the game to come, Select Team head coach Mark Keenan commented:

“The management of the Premier Men’s Select Team are delighted to announce the following squad of players that will travel to Birmingham in January to take on the BBL Select Team for the second year running.

“We have 4 returning players from last years team involved again this year and this will help greatly with the introduction of our new players to the system. We have a nice balance of experience and youth within the team and are all looking forward to the challenge ahead.

“The team will train again next Sunday January 5th in Cork and will have one more session in the UK the day before the game.”
