SELL out seasons last year at Gaeity Theatre make clear that Des Keoghโs faithful adaptation of John B Keaneโs novel, โThe Love Hungry Farmerโ fills a font of hope within our psyche โ 10 years after its creation.
This delicate one man show is based verbatim on Keaneโs original text. โThe Love-Hungry Farmerโ, John Bosco McLaneโs search for a woman to call his own, is due in town. Richard Ryan Promotions (Dublin) brings this Patrick Talbot production to Corpus Christi NS in Moyross for one night only, this Wednesday April 2 for 7.30pm.
Ryan is man who brought in fabulous shows such as โLittle Gemโ, โDear ย Frankieโ and โTom Crean Antarctic Explorerโ to this community venue previously.
Back to John Bosco, the tender hearted 50-something bachelor.
โThis production has played to full houses in Dublin and in all the major theatres throughout the Island of Ireland,โ Richard Ryan reports. โThe combination of these legendary figures will provide an evening of exquisite entertainment on Wednesday 2nd next in Corpus Christi for only โฌ5 in to all lovers of good theatreโ.
No less than The New York Times critiqued Des Keoghโs show as โfiercely serious and bruisingly hilariousโ.
