A POST mortem is due to be carried out on the body of a woman in her forties who died in a house fire in Janesboro in the early hours of Monday morning.

Neighbours raised the alarm after seeing smoke and flames coming from the mid-terrace home of the woman in Daly Avenue around midnight.
The fire brigade arrived on the scene within minutes. The woman’s body was found in the back bedroom of the house, where it is believed the fire started.
It’s understood that the mother of two grown children lived at the house with her partner, who was being consoled by neighbours after he returned to the house later in the morning.
It’s believed that deceased had just become a grandmother and that she had been socialising with friends earlier that evening.
Gardai are investigating but it is expected that the matter will be treated as a tragic accident.
