Irish Youth Choir Bursary 2014

LIMERICK Arts Office recently announced that Eoin Scanlon from Dooradoyle ,Limerick is the recipient of the Irish Youth Choir Bursary for 2014.

Based at the University of Limerick,the Irish Youth Choir is a national youth choir of 80-90 singers ranging from 18-28 years of age. Singers come from all over Ireland to participate in the choir and rehearse at an intensive rehearsal week in UL in the summer.

This year the rehearsals run from June 29 to July 5 and the week culminates in a series of performances around Ireland.

A music student at the Cork School of Music, Eoin Scanlon received the Bursary of €240, which will cover the cost of his tuition. He is also a member of the County Limerick Youth Choir. Limerick Arts Office offers a Bursary to help support singers in attending the course.

On Sunday July 6,the Irish Youth Choir will perform “Heavenly Bodies” at St.Marys Cathedral,Limerick.
