Revenue Seizes Drugs in Limerick

AS PART of an intelligence-led joint operation involving Revenue’s Customs Service and An Garda Síochana, officers seized approximately 250gms of methylone with an estimated street value of €9,000 in Limerick this Friday.

The drugs were seized following the controlled delivery of a package which originated in China to an address in Dock Road after the package had been detected earlier by Revenue officers in airfreight at Shannon airport. Methylone is a drug which has similar effects as MDMA.

A 32 year old Zimbabwean male was arrested and detained at Roxboro a Road Garda Station and investigations are ongoing.
