Rape Crisis

rp_rapecrisislogo.jpgCUTBACKS in Government funding and a massive drop in charitable donations have forced Rape Crisis MIdwest to temporarily close a range of vital services. A funding shortfall of €120,000 has forced the temporary closure of the Clare and North Tipperary service for at least one month and possibly more. Similar measures have been put in place in Limerick and that centre will only be in a position to offer a limited service over the coming months. “This is a decision that we have not taken lightly and has come on the back of additional significant cost saving measures over the last number of years,” a statement on the centre’s s website says.
