A UL Orchestra 2012
THE expanding University of Limerick Orchestra (ULO) has first rehearsal this semester on Tuesday 16 in the ICO building in Plassey. Be there for 7.30pm, advises manager Peter Hanley, who urges hesitant would-be members to hesitate no more (www.ulorchestra.org).
“Our Christmas concert is at 8pm on Saturday December 6 in University Concert Hall, so even if you can’t join our orchestra, please save the date and come along to hear some great music. We will be performing Dvorak’s ‘New World Symphony’, ‘Simple Gifts’ by Copland and a commissioned piece in collaboration with Mary Immaculate College which celebrates Limerick City of Culture. It’s called ‘Luimneach Abú’.”
Music by the cinema scoring John Williams also.
