Dolores O’Riordan arrested at Shannon Airport

doloresLIMERICK born Cranberries star Dolores O’Riordan has been arrested at Shannon airport following an alleged incident onboard an Irish bound flight from New York in the early hours of this Monday morning.

It is understood that 20 minutes before Aer Lingus EI110 flight was due to land, the Limerick singer became disruptive as she refused to take her seat ahead of landing.

It’s alleged she stamped on an air hostess’s foot during the incident and the air hostess was taken to hospital with a suspected fracture.

Gardai were alerted and when the singer was being arrested at Shannon airport it’s further alleged that she head butted and spat at the arresting officer.

The Garda was not injured but an ambulance was called for the air hostess who is being treated at University Hospital Limerick.

Ms O’Riordan is currently in garda custody at Shannon Garda Station where she is being held under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act which means she can be held for up to 24 hours

The singer was travelling home from New York in the company of an adult male who was not involved in the incident.

UPDATE. It has since emerged that the Limerick singer has been brought to hospital after being assessed by a doctor while in Garda custody.

Following a period of time at the University Hospital Limerick, Ms O’Riordan was released from garda custody and gardai are preparing a file for the DPP.
