SUPPORTED by Clare County Council and Clare County Library, Ennis Book Club Festival is expected to attract 3,000 Book Club members and literary enthusiasts from all over Ireland, Europe and North America. Set time aside March 6 to 8 and note that Sunday March 8’s Sunday Symposium in Glór will be ‘The Naked Politician’.

Award winning novelist and UL’s Frank McCourt Prof, Joe O’Connor, will open the weekend on Friday 6.

Contributors to EBCFestival include novelist and playwright Niall Williams, on the longlist for The Man Booker Prize 2014; novelist Mary Costello who took the Eason Novel of the Year honour for her novel ‘Academy Street’; short story writer Colin Barrett of 2014 Guardian First Book Award and 2014 Rooney Prize for Irish Literature and the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award.

There is also Michael Smith, biographer of explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton and Tom Crean; Seán Rocks, presenter of RTÉ Radio 1s Arena programme and crime novelist Val McDermid.
