ANTI Austerity Alliance councillor Cian Prendiville is not satisfied with what is being proposed for Limerick City and County Council’s new bin waiver scheme. He believes there is a serious threat hanging over the scheme beyond the end of this month and is calling for a serious campaign to defend it. “The current scheme in the city area provides a bin collection once every two weeks for pensioners, and every three weeks for the unemployed. If that scheme is scrapped, that will mean extra bills of €250 just to maintain the same level of service as last year,” he said.
