A MAN in his 20s has been discharged from hospital this Thursday morning following a shooting a in Moyross overnight.
Gardai are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident where the man was shot in a lane way near Dalglish Park in Moyross on Wedneaday night.
It is understood that a group of youths who had been drinking in the vicinity were targeted by a gunman in a silver coloured car that entered the area shortly after 11:30pm.
A gunman opened fire and one male suffered pellet wounds to his head and back.
The other three men escaped injury.
The wounded man was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he was treated with medical intervention.
Gardai at Mayorstone Station say that they are investigating the incident and have conducted house to house investigations and are reviewing CCTV footage.
They are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 061 456980.
Shortly after noon this Thursday a silver car was found burnt out at the footbridge between Doonass and Summerhill in Clonlara.
No arrests have been made to date but the investigation continues.
