Armed robbery at Limerick city bookies

AN ARMED robbery at a Limerick City bookmakers on Friday evening last is under investigation after two people entered the Ladbrokes on Cecil Street and made off with a large quantity of cash.

However, two people have been arrested by Gardai in the city following the theft at 6:45pm on Friday.

Gardai say that a “significant amount of cash was stolen” in the robbery, but nobody was injured in the incident.

A short time later, gardai raided a local hostel where a man in his 20s was found with a large quantity of cash.
