IF tripping out West Clare over the holidays, take a turn towards New Quay to visit The Russell Gallery for its group show of top international artists, some of them Irish.
Limerick names are Lorraine Wall, Charles Harper and Donald Teskey; there is Judith McKimm from Austria, Robin Cole Smith, USA and Arno Kramer and Tibbe Hooghiemstra from Netherlands in the worldwide mix.
In fact there are two streams at work, one being a response to Heaney’s well known dedication to “the flaggy shore” and to properly catch the heart off guard, there’s a joint Russell gallery/ Burren College of Art show. Timothy Emlyn Jones curates it.
