Boxing – Andy Lee fight cancelled in Limerick. Moved to Manchester

Screen Shot 2015-08-12 at 19.43.42ANDY LEE’S WBO World title fight with Billy Joe Saunders, scheduled for September 19 at Thomond Park, has been cancelled. The fight will now take place in Manchester on October 10.

The fight has to be pushed out from the original date as World Champion Lee has been diagnosed with a virus.

Lee’s promoter Lou DiBella, speaking on boxingscene.com added, “I got a call from Andy Booth who told me that Andy has been battling a virus on and off for the last couple of weeks, they are moving the fight back to October 10.”

In what is a crushing blow to both Andy and the people of Limerick, all concerned with the fight hope that should Lee win the bout with Saunders, another World title fight could take place in Limerick in the Spring/Summer of 2016
