With six county titles between the two sides in game one, the 2014 champions Ballylanders will be slight favourites against the men from the West. However Newcastlewest did win their group and the quest for a first Daly Cup since 1992 will be driving force enough to ensure this game will be a close affair.
The second game of the two sees seven times county champions Drom/ Broadford taking on five time champions Monaleen. These two sides have been the powerhouses of the local football landscape since 2000 and a close game is all but guaranteed at what should be a well attended double header.
On the hurling front Patrickswell, with a 100 per cent record, return to the field of play for the first time since August 30. The โWell take on Adare in the county semi final at 3.45pm on Sunday on the Gaelic Grounds. Adareโs impressive 1-20 to 2-10 win over Ahane last weekend means that they will be battle hardened against their near neighbours. Patrickswell average scoring of 25.6 points per game this season means they are rightfully favourites to reach their first county final since 2006.
