LUNCHTIME concerts at St Mary’s Cathedral on Wednesdays have emerged as one of the city’s most appealing acts. At 1.15pm the community is assured of professional musicians and singers and a dulcet programme that is free to all but with the option of giving to The Companions of St Mary’s Cathedral music.

Next up on Wednesday October 7, mezzo soprano Edel O’Brien joins with pianist Irina Dernova for music by Scarlatti, Head, Monsalvage, Korngold and Poulenc.

Unusually, it’s a month down the line for another concert, taking place Wednesday November 4 with Helen Houlihan soprano accompanied by Dernova for compositions by Granados, Barber, Copland and Honegger.
